Personal Statement:

Dr. Juan Xiong received her Ph.D. from University of Western Ontario, Canada , in 2011, and then joined the Department of acturial ascience and statisticals  at the University of Waterloo for postdoctoral training. In 2016, Dr. Xiong joined the School of Public Health of Shenzhen University as an assistant professor.

Dr. Juan Xiong is passionate about applying statistical methods and data science techniques to solve real-world problems in healthcare. Her primary research interests lie in survival analysis, longitudinal data analysis and clinical prediction modeling. She is particularly interested in combining longitudinal naysis with survival data to create more robust predictive models to capture both the temporal aspects and risk factors associated with patient outcomes. By leveraging both traditional statistical techniques and modern machine learning algorithms, Dr. Juan Xiong aspires to contribute to the creation of models that are not only statistically sound but also useful in clinical settings.
