A. Personal Statement
I received my bachelor’s degree in 1989 from Nanjing University and my Master’s degree in 1991 from Sun Yat-sen University. In 1999, I received my doctorate from Sun Yat-Sen University. I served as the Director of the Center for Biomedical Engineering of 999 Group from 1997 to 2000. In October 2007, I joined the Medical school of Shenzhen University and served as the Director of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In 2010, I was awarded the qualification of Basic Medical Professor by the Personnel Office of the Guangdong province government. Since 2011, I have been employed by Shenzhen University as a Professor of Basic Medicine.
I have been engaged in the basic research of allergic reaction and the application of translational immunology. I have received several achievements in this area and in vitro diagnostic reagent development and application. I have published 23 SCI papers and 1 SSCI paper in journals including NEJM, JACI, and Allergy, of which 8 papers are JCR class one. One of the articles was selected for the Hong Kong medical ee-education study paper, and two were cited by the World Allergy Organization's Guideline for 2011. I identified the allergens Derf24 and Derp24 for the first time in and analyzed the dust mite genome and transcriptome. My published research on this topic were selected as the Editor’s choice and a related editorial was published highlighting my work: "Studies of house dust mites can now fully embrace the ‘‘-omics’’ era" (JACI, 2015, Vol 135 (2) : 369,549-550). In addition, this research was selected by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in the journal Science Foundation in China (2015, Vol.23(4) : 12).
I have received eight grants to fund my research: 1 NSFC project, 4 Guangdong Province science and Technology projects and 3 Shenzhen Science and Technology projects. I won first prize of the Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress Award, and second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Ministry of Education. I also opened a web lecture of biological chemistry and molecular biology (WeChat: BioChem_SZU). My research group covers a comprehensive range of techniques, including protein crystallization, genome analysis, diagnostics and vaccine development, and cultivates high-level postgraduates.
