A. Personal statement

Yi Shijian is a Member of the Communist Party of China, Chief Physician of General Surgery, Professor of Surgery, Supervisor of Postgraduates, and Cooperative Supervisor. Yi Shijian is the Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Outpatient Department of Shenzhen University General Hospital and Director of the Outpatient Department. He is a Senior Visiting Scholar at the KECK Medical Center, University of Southern California, and Head of the Shenzhen Base, Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery, Jinan University. Yi Shijian is the former Director of General Surgery and Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery for >10 years. He is Vice Chairman of the World Endoscopy Physicians Association Branch of Natural Endocrinology Doctors; Vice Chairman of the Endoscopy Mini-invasive Bile Protection Committee of the Endoscopy Physicians Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association Chairman; a member of the Standing Committee of the General Association of General Microinjury and Endoscopy of the Chinese Association of World Endoscopy Physicians; the National Deputy Leader of the Disaster and Trauma Treatment Expert Group of the Chinese Society of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine; Director of the Breast Specialist Branch of Guangdong Medical Association; Deputy Chairman of the Thyroid and Breast Surgery Special Committee of Shenzhen Medical Association; and Vice President of the Hernia and Abdominal Surgery Branch of Shenzhen Medical Association. He is an Editorial Board Member of the "Chinese Journal of Endoscopy", the "Chinese Electronic Journal of Obesity and Metabolic Diseases" and "Chinese Medical Engineering".

His main engagements are in minimally invasive general surgery, clinical medicine, scientific research and teaching. He has expertise in precise individualized comprehensive treatment of thyroid and breast tumors; microscopic clinical-applied anatomy research of recurrent laryngeal nerve under endoscopy; endoscopic thyroid surgery of the recurrent laryngeal nerve; the parathyroid protection strategy; development and application of micro-device platforms for thyroid robotic surgery systems; quality of life care; recurrence and survival analysis of breast-conserving breast cancers; gene sequencing of breast cancers; sequencing of CTC single cells; and intra-abdominal pressure and inguinal hernia formation .

He has participated in two projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, has presided over and completed one project of the Hunan Science and Technology Plan, guided and completed five projects of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Plan, and performed research for one project of the Shenzhen Knowledge Innovation Plan.
