EDUCATION/TRAINING

A. Personal statement

I am the Director of the General Practice Center of the Second People’s Hospital of Shenzen; a professor, researcher and doctoral supervisor. I have been engaged in the prevention and control of chronic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases for 30 years, serving as the Vice Chairman of the General Medicine and Primary Health Professional Committee of the Guangdong Clinical Medicine Association, a member of the General Medicine Teaching Steering Committee of Guangdong Higher Education, and the Vice Chairman of the Third General Medicine Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Medical Association. I also served as the Director of Stroke Prevention and Control Office, undertook the National Project for the Screening and Prevention of Cerebrovascular Diseases in Shenzhen, and organized the establishment of the Shenzhen Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment System which has been repeatedly recognized and praised by the Stroke Prevention Engineering Committee of the National Health and Family Planning Commission. I have presided over a number of national and provincial scientific research projects in the field of stroke prevention and treatment, publishing more than 30 SCI papers in international academic journals. In addition, I have supervised four master's degree students and three doctoral students in the past; and am presently supervising one postdoctoral researcher in clinical epidemiology and four additional master’s degree students, including two in the field of general medicine and two in epidemiology and health statistics.
