Personal Statement:
Dr. Lei received her M. Eng degree in electronics science and technology from Zhejiang University, China, and Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, respectively. Her research interests include medical image analysis, artificial intelligence, and pattern recognition. In these areas, she has published more than 300 scientific articles in refereed international journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI), IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (TMI), IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics (TCYB), IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems (TNNLS), IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (JBHI), Medical Image Analysis (MedIA), and conference proceedings such as AAAI and MICCAI. Among them, more than 100 SCI journals have been published as the first author or corresponding author (7 ESI, 1 Hot paper). She has 40 authorized patents as the first inventor. She has been a principal investigator of more than 30 grants including national science foundation of China (NSFC), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), NSFC of Guangdong province.
She is a receipt of Distinguished Changjiang Young Scholar of Chinese Ministry of Education, Qingyun Shi Female Scientist from the China Image and Drawing Society (CSIG), "Top 0.05% of the World's Top Scholars" in ScholarGPS 2024, "Top 2% Top Scientists in the World" released by Stanford University (2020-2023), IEEE Engineering Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS) Distinguished Lecturer, Chinese Young Scientist from China Association for Science and Technology (40 people nationwide). She has obtained the first prize of Shenzhen Science and Technology Award, and third prize of Wenjun Wu Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award.
She has been very active in providing professional services to the IEEE and to the academic community at large. She is an IEEE senior member and has served as Technical Committee members of IEEE Bio Imaging Signal Processing (BISP), IEEE Biomedical Signal Processing (BSP) and IEEE Biomedical Imaging and Image Processing (BIIP), program committee member for several international and native conferences such as IJCAI and AAAI. She is a MICCAI member, AAAI member, SPIE member.
She currently serves as the Associate Editor of TMI, TCYB, TNNLS, JBHI, Neural Computing and Application (NCAA). She was award the distinguished reviewer of IEEE TMI during the year 2018-2024. She has served more than 60 journals as a reviewer and has received ICASSP 2022 Outstanding Reviewer Recognition.
