A. Personal Statement
My long-standing research interests lie in machine learning and its applications in medical informatics, especially in medical image analysis and bioinformatics . Many clinical problems require statistical tools, matrix/tensor analysis, and numerical optimization for understanding. My research aims to understand such clinical problems from these points of view. Research in my lab has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation in China, the Natural Science Foundation in Shenzhen, and via collaboration with clinical Doctors. I have >40 papers and I am currently mentoring 5 M.Sc. candidates.
