A.   Personal Statement

I have been engaged in theoretical research, independent research and development, and industrialization of high-end medical probes for 13 years. I have been presiding over >10 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Guangdong Science and Technology project, which accounts for nearly 10 million yuan. I have completed a National Key Scientific Instrument and Equipment Development Project, the major program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology fund, and the National High-tech R&D Program of China. I set up the only design, simulation, manufacture and testing full line medical ultrasonic probe laboratory of national universities. The laboratory has become an important part of the "National-Reginoal Key Technology Engineering Laboratory for Medical Ultrasound and Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Biomedical Measurements and Ultrasound Imaging". Here, we have completed system establishment, new imaging methods, and pre-clinical application research work. Our lab provides the tests, plans and technical support for many well-known ultrasonic enterprises and research institutes.

In order to ensure the industrialization of R & D results, I have been developing the original technology, respect for intellectual property rights and the principles of publishing articles after the first application of patents for many years. As the first inventor, I have applied for 13 patents, of which two were granted in the United States and Europe, three were granted in China, and several PCT. I cooperate with well-known companies and I have taken the lead in the production of research projects, amounting to 6 million yuan.

Over the past 3 years, important progress has been made in multidimensional phased array probes, high definition ultrasound endoscopy of the digestive tract and IVUS probes. I have won the "China International High Technology Achievement Fair - Excellent Product Award" three times , and these techniques have been gradually industrialized. I worked with a Shenzhen-based company to develop a real-time 4D volume probe and multi-dimensional probe, with a sales volume of >7 million yuan. The core technology of the probe has contributed to the industrialization of the high-end color Doppler DC-8 of the project partner, Shenzhen MINDRAY, under the support of major industrial projects in Shenzhen. I have published 25 papers as the first or corresponding author in a number of important engineering journals such as Applied Physics Letters, IEEE Electron Device Letters, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering SCI. The papers have been cited 183 times in total, with one single paper being cited 81 times.
