EDUCATION/TRAINING

A. Personal statement

Long Xu is an MD, Senior Physician, Professor and a tutor for Master degree programs. Dr. Xu is a member of the Minimally Invasive Intervention Collaboration Group of the Digestive Society of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA). Dr. Xu is also a member of the Internal and External Dialogue Collaboration Group of the Digestive Society of the CMA. He is a member of the Youth Committee of the Digestive Endoscopy Intervention Special Committee of the CMA; a member of the Standing Committee of the Cancer and Microecology Society of the China Anti-Cancer Association; and a member of the Digestive Disease Branch of the CMA. He is also Vice Chairman of the Digestive Endoscopy Branch of the Shenzhen Medical Association; Vice President of the Digestive Branch of the Shenzhen Doctors Association; and Vice Chairman of the Gastrocolorectal Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Anti-Cancer Alliance. He serves as a reviewer for the NSFC. He is mainly engaged in research concerning digestive diseases and has been supported by funding from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission and others, with funding totaling >1 million yuan. He has published ~40 academic papers in domestic and international journals.
