Personal Statement:

Dr. Jianbing Jiang obtained his PhD degree in Leiden University of Netherlands with major of chemical biology in 2016. He came back to China to work as an assistant professor in the Institute of Synthetic Biology, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2017, he was recognized as a member of Class C of Shenzhen Overseas High-level talent Peacock Project and a member of Class C talent of Shenzhen Nanshan District. In July 2018, he was appointed as an assistant professor by the School of Medicine, Shenzhen University. In November 2019, he was appointed as a specially appointed associate researcher and master's supervisor. In March 2024, he was promoted to a long-term associate professor at Shenzhen University.

Dr. Jiang Jianbing's main research direction is the design and synthesis of molecular probes, as well as the identification and mechanism study of target proteins for the prevention and treatment of diseases by natural products of traditional Chinese medicine using activity based protein profiling. At present, I am leading one general project of Guangdong Natural Science Foundation , and as a sub project leader, I have participated in national key research and development plan projects (17 million yuan), national natural science foundation key projects (2.97 million yuan), and Shenzhen high-level talent peacock team projects (15 million yuan). As the project leader, I have led the completion of one National Natural Science Foundation youth project, one Guangdong Natural Science Foundation project, one Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission free exploration fund project, and one Shenzhen University research start-up project. As the first author or corresponding author, I have published over 20 SCI papers, including high-level research papers such as Nature Chemical Biology and ACS Central Science, and have been granted 2 national invention patents. At present, I am mainly responsible for teaching two courses: "Frontiers of Chemical Biology" for undergraduate students in pharmacy and "Medicinal Chemical Biology" for graduate students. I have also led one campus level educational reform project at Shenzhen University.
