A. Research Interests
My research focuses on the molecular characterization of anti-inflammatory or immunomodulatory activities of Chinese medicines and the development of novel therapies for inflammatory bowel disease and viral diseases. My work mainly involves: 1) identifying the corresponding active compounds from complex herbal medicines through a bioactivity-guided fractionation procedure against specific disease-relevant molecular targets; 2) determining the therapeutic effects and the underlying mechanisms of Chinese medicines or active compounds in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and viral diseases; 3) translational studies of these active candidates described in (2). I have published > 30 peer-reviewed research papers in journals such as Mol Nutr Food Res, Oxid Med Cell Longev, Curr Med Chem, Sci Rep, J. Nat. Prod. My research has been financial supported by the National Natural Science Foundation in China (NSFC), the Science and Technology Fund of Guizhou province, and Shenzhen University.
