Delegates from IAAM visited Shenzhen University Medical School

On the morning of April 3, 2025, Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari, Secretary General of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), visited Shenzhen University (SZU) Medical School, accompanied by Ms. Suda and Mr. Jinlin Ye, Executive Director of IAAM Asia Pacific. The delegation was welcomed by Professor Xingzhi Xu, Executive Dean of SZU Medical School; Professor Xin Chen, Vice Dean of the Medical School; and Professor Yongdong Jin from the School of Biomedical Engineering.

During the meeting, Professor Xingzhi Xu extended a warm welcome to the IAAM delegation, provided an overview of SZU Medical School, and outlined recent achievements in academic research, funding acquisition, and international collaboration. He also expressed a strong interest in developing further cooperative initiatives with IAAM.

Dr. Tiwari introduced IAAM’s global network of collaborations and shared examples of successful partnerships between China and Nordic countries in the fields of materials science, engineering, and technology. He emphasized the importance of deepening international cooperation, fostering the sharing of scientific and technological innovation resources, improving educational quality, and cultivating students' global outlook and cross-cultural communication skills.

The two parties discussed a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)and reached preliminary consensus on multiple areas of cooperation, including the establishment of a joint laboratory, international student recruitment, faculty and student exchanges, and the joint organization of academic conferences.

Following the meeting, Dr. Tiwari served as a keynote speaker at the 35th Lihu Bioengineering Forum, delivering a lecture titled “Advances in Integrated Biosensing for Digital Health and Environmentally Sustainable Diagnostics.” In recognition of his contribution, Professor Xingzhi Xu presented Dr. Tiwari with an honorary certificate on behalf of the Lihu Bioengineering Forum.
