On April 8, 2026, a delegation from Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, visited Shenzhen University Medical School. The delegation was led by Professor Muhammad Miftahussurur, Vice Rector of Universitas Airlangga, and included Dr. Tofan Agung Eka Prasetya, Deputy Director of the Office of Global Affairs. The delegation was received by Professor Xingzhi Xu, Executive Dean of Shenzhen University Medical School, and Professor Yisui Xia, Distinguished Professor in the School of Basic Medical Sciences.

Prior to the symposium, Professor Yisui Xia led the delegation on a tour of the Lihu Campus, introducing the campus layout, teaching facilities, and research infrastructure.

A bilateral symposium was subsequently held in Conference Room 911, Building A6 (Shouhui Building), chaired by Professor Xingzhi Xu. During the meeting, Professor Xu presented an overview of the Medical School’s development, disciplinary structure, and international engagement. Dr. Tofan Agung Eka Prasetya outlined Universitas Airlangga’s strategic priorities in research innovation, community development, and global collaboration.

The two parties engaged in detailed discussions on potential areas of collaboration, including academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, and faculty and student mobility. Particular attention was given to the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with preliminary consensus reached on several key areas of future cooperation.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued communication, progressing the formal signing of the MoU, and advancing the implementation of collaborative projects. The visit strengthened mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for further cooperation in medical education and research.
