The Vice President the of Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, Professor Rafis Abazov, visited Shenzhen University

Professor Rafis Abazov, Vice President of Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, visited Shenzhen University from July 15th to 19th, 2024 upon invitation by Executive Dean of Shenzhen University Medical School, Professor Xingzhi Xu.

On July 16th, Professor Abazov delivered the 87th lecture in the "Basic Medicine Expert Forum" series. His talk, titled "Six Strategies to Effectively Deal with Different Business Cultures", was held at the A7 Shahe Lecture Hall of the Lihu Campus of Shenzhen University. The lecture was chaired by Professor Xingzhi Xu, and attracted the active participation of more than 40 staff and students from the Shenzhen University Medical School.

Professor Abazov explained how to adopt six key strategies to effectively navigate different business cultures in the workplace. Following the report, Professor Abazov engaged in a lively discussion with the audience, where together they further explored the strategies mentioned in the lecture.

On July 17th, Prof. Abazov visited the China National GeneBank (CNGB) located in the Dapeng District of Shenzhen. During his visit, he toured the advanced research infrastructure and gene technology facilities. He joined a round table discussion with Wenjun Zeng, Deputy Director of the CNGB, and Jason Chen, Assistant Director of the CNGB. Prof. Abazov introduced the research achievements of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University and expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation and exchange between the two institutions through this visit.

On the morning of July 18th, a joint meeting on the topic of a shared MBA program between Shenzhen University and Kazakh National Agrarian Research University was held in Conference Room A6-911, SZU Medical School. Prof. Yanchun Pan, Dean of the College of International Exchange, SZU, Prof. Xingzhi Xu, Executive Dean of SZU Medical School, and Sa Zeng, Vice Director of the International Office, SZU, jointed the meeting. Representatives from the SZU School of Management, and the South China Hospital affiliated to SZU engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as staff and student exchanges, joint degree programs, international summer school projects, and Ph.D. admissions.
