Program Description

Established in 1983, Shenzhen University (SZU) has become a forefront innovator in higher education. SZU ranks among the top 400 World’s Renowned Universities and the top 30 Chinese Universities. SZU offers a wide array of undergraduate and graduate programs and provides students with an interdisciplinary and inclusive multicultural learning environment, aiming at encouraging students to pursue academic excellence and discover new interests and opportunities in a fast-changing era.

The SZU Medical School was established in December 2008, which is the very first medical school in Shenzhen. SZU Medical School has a total of 506 faculty members. Most of the full-time teaching and research staff have overseas study or working experience, 96.3% of them hold doctoral degrees. The scientific excellence in medicine nationalwide in our school includes genome medicine, immunity, cancer research, ageing & metabolism, therapeutic lead compound discovery, AI imaging, medical equipment development, orthopedics, neurosurgery, burn surgery, and pain management.

Junior students interested in the fields of life science and basic medical science are encouraged to apply to the Summer School at SZU Medical School. Deadline for submission of applications is May 4th, 2026. Supplemental materials should be received by May 4th, 2026—incomplete applications will not be considered by the selection committee. We have selected 30 candidates to proceed to the interview stage. You will receive a decision regarding your interview by May 6th. Please prepare a 5-minute presentation in advance, consisting of a 4-minute talk (covering your self-introduction, practical experience, and future plans) followed by 1 minute of Q&A.

Deadline for submission of application: May 4th, 2026

Tuition & Fees: No tuition fees. A deposit CNY 1,000/student is required upon acceptance by this program and will be refunded when you join the summer school in Shenzhen.

What we will provide for you: A roundtrip economy airticket between local city and Shenzhen/Hong Kong;  free dormitory on campus; an allowance of CNY 1,000/student; a city tour
