嘉宾简介：

Hakan Urey教授自2001年起任教于土耳其伊斯坦布尔的科奇大学（Koç University），并于2024年1月起担任该校研究与创新副校长。他于1992年获得中东技术大学电气工程学士学位，1996年和1997年先后在佐治亚理工学院取得电气与计算机工程硕士及博士学位。毕业后，他曾在美国维视图像公司（Microvision Inc.）工作五年。在学术休假期间，他曾在剑桥大学、博斯普鲁斯大学和斯坦福大学担任客座教授。Hakan Urey教授在科奇大学创立了光学微系统实验室（Optical Microsystems Laboratory, OML），致力于光学微机电系统（MEMS）、3D与增强现实显示技术、生物医学系统等跨学科研究，其成果被应用于诊断测试、神经科学及眼科学领域。他已发表250余篇学术论文，并在国际会议上作特邀演讲超过50次。此外，他拥有60多项专利，所有专利均已实现产业转化，并孵化出五家衍生企业。因学术贡献卓著，他荣获多项奖项，现为土耳其科学院（Science Academy of Türkiye）院士及国际光学组织（Optica，原美国光学学会）会士。

报告简介：

    After my PhD and some industry experience, I joined Koç University Electrical Engineering department as one of the founding faculty members in 2001. I’ll talk briefly about research and innovation at Koc University, which already became the top research university in Türkiye in less than 30 years. My lab has focused on applied research in optics and micromechanical system technologies and developed various novel displays, wearables devices, and biomedical devices. Our interdisciplinary research led to 60 patents, 5 spinoff companies and many commercial products. In this talk I’ll discuss the evolution of virtual reality and augmented reality displays, wearable devices, as well as biomedical devices developed in my research lab.
